This was a masterpiece。 Why was it a masterpiece you ask？ The storytelling was flawless， so emotionally gripping that I cried almost from the start to the end。 It was heartbreaking and told in such a way that I felt everything for all of the key characters。 I understood their grief， the choices some felt pushed to make， all of it。。。because Michelle Heard is a masterful storyteller。 She is the epitome of a talented author in my opinion。 I read a lot。 Hundreds of books a year and it is hard to imp This was a masterpiece。 Why was it a masterpiece you ask？ The storytelling was flawless， so emotionally gripping that I cried almost from the start to the end。 It was heartbreaking and told in such a way that I felt everything for all of the key characters。 I understood their grief， the choices some felt pushed to make， all of it。。。because Michelle Heard is a masterful storyteller。 She is the epitome of a talented author in my opinion。 I read a lot。 Hundreds of books a year and it is hard to impress me these days but that is exactly what she did here。 This said what it needed to say without stretching it out to a 400 page plus book unnecessarily。 I don't appreciate longer books for the reason that you almost always lose the impact and quality of the story due to filler and unnecessary drama between characters that could have easily been left out。 This was so carefully honed down to the last page。 The H was one of the first mob bosses that I actually believed could hold the title。 He was ruthless， absolutely ruthless。 He did not get "soft" because he fell in love。 He became more ruthless。 Fantastic story！ I will not soon forget this。 Well done Ms。 Heard。 。。。more

RENZO🔥😻This book was absolutely everything！ It was something different from what I’ve always read， and it pulled at my heart strings！ Renzo and Skylar’s relationship was beautifully well written。 From the very first encounter of how their relationship started to how it ended， Michelle Heard outdid herself with this book。 As a girl who lost her father， the scenes with Skylar and her father broke me in half。 Even Renzo’s loosing his brother broke me。 This book had my emotions all over the place！ T RENZO🔥😻This book was absolutely everything！ It was something different from what I’ve always read， and it pulled at my heart strings！ Renzo and Skylar’s relationship was beautifully well written。 From the very first encounter of how their relationship started to how it ended， Michelle Heard outdid herself with this book。 As a girl who lost her father， the scenes with Skylar and her father broke me in half。 Even Renzo’s loosing his brother broke me。 This book had my emotions all over the place！ The spice comes towards the end but honestly， this book was well written， it didn’t even need those scenes。 The general plot and storyline kept you hooked from start to finish！ I can’t wait to see more Dario and Damiano。 。。。more

This was so incredibly NOT romantic。 Skylar needs a kidney transplant。 Her stepfather then manages to get one through the black market。 So she receives the kidney of Renzo's brother （well， not really brother。。。but he calls him brother， they're SUPER close--besties）。 So， Renzo's brother is horrifically murdered and all of his organs are sold on the black market （which is absolutely horrible， do not get me wrong！）。 So Renzo finds out， and is rightfully beyond upset。。。and decides to kill everyone w This was so incredibly NOT romantic。 Skylar needs a kidney transplant。 Her stepfather then manages to get one through the black market。 So she receives the kidney of Renzo's brother （well， not really brother。。。but he calls him brother， they're SUPER close--besties）。 So， Renzo's brother is horrifically murdered and all of his organs are sold on the black market （which is absolutely horrible， do not get me wrong！）。 So Renzo finds out， and is rightfully beyond upset。。。and decides to kill everyone who had to do with it。 Which， I totally get。 BUT， he kidnaps Skylar thinking he'll torture her and kill her--and he keeps this line of thinking well after realizing that she had NO idea that her father did this。 She thought the kidney she received was donated。 Over 50% of the book is Renzo treating Skylar absolutely HORRIBLE。 And Skylar forgives her stepdad WAY too easily for this disgusting thing he did。 And then within a chapter or two， they suddenly love each other。。。。and it just didn't make sense。 Renzo was an absolute jerk to her--totally horrible， treated her like shit， purposefully made her fear that he would r*pe her， kill her， threaten to cut the kidney out of her while she's awake。。。I mean， he's a terrible person （I can only give grief only so much of an excuse）。 And all of this is just forgiven？ There is little to no chemistry between Skylar and Renzo， so it's just random and icky feeling。 Not at all romantic。 I DNF'd at 80% because I realized I really didn't care how it ended。 I just felt icky and didn't like anyone in the book except for a couple of Renzo's friends （maybe they'll get a book）。 But yes， I know this is supposed to be a Dark Romance。。。but aren't Dark Romances supposed to still be somewhat romantic？ Or have the H be at all likeable？ Shouldn't we be able to understand why the h is falling for them？ I got none of this。 Even when Renzo was acting all 'sweet' it was way too little and wayyyy too late。 He showed his true colors， and his true colors is abusive。 。。。more

I have absolutely loved everything that I have read so far from Michelle。 However， the start of this book was not the best。 I was going to DNF it （which I rarely do）， to be honest， but I stuck with it， and I have to admit， I’m glad I did。 Once I got past a certain point， it got way better， and I’m glad。 The ending was definitely one of my favourite parts。

Renzo and Skylar were interesting。 I did not expect the organ trafficking storyline but it makes so much sense because I was trying to figure out how the story was going to play out after I had read the blurb prior to it's release。 I was hoping there would be a way that Skylar could have a relationship with her dad。 I have to day， I was in tears at every emotional part with Skylar and her dad。 From the point where she is saying goodbye to him when they think she's dying， to when he says goodbye Renzo and Skylar were interesting。 I did not expect the organ trafficking storyline but it makes so much sense because I was trying to figure out how the story was going to play out after I had read the blurb prior to it's release。 I was hoping there would be a way that Skylar could have a relationship with her dad。 I have to day， I was in tears at every emotional part with Skylar and her dad。 From the point where she is saying goodbye to him when they think she's dying， to when he says goodbye to her before he gets shot。 My heart was in my throat！ Even thinking about it now gets me teary。 I guess the pattern in this series is more insta-love that's a little hard to digest。 With the amount of anger Renzo has for Skylar， it was a bit harder to buy into his alphahole persona。 His character in this book was such a contrast to the one in the previous book who was making fun of Franco non-stop！ I loved getting to see Franco and Samantha， and a bit of their triplets！ The epilogue， the adoption， the little boy watching out for his baby sister and his reaction to getting a family - my heart！！ This book hit me emotionally more than any of the other books with the family connections。 。。。more
